Asylum seekers intercepted by the Australian Border Force (ABF) in Darwin have been put before immigration tribunals on humanitarian grounds, says the Refugee Council of Australia.
The refugees were detained when they allegedly left an address in the north of Australia with a man believed to be an Australian citizen.
Refugee Council of Australia (RCA) executive director Chris Kenny said there had been reports of people with "non-immigration-related" claims having been detained by the ABF in Brisbane, Port Lincoln and Darwin, despite being on the correct document.
is is obviously a new, shocking and shocking development," Mr Kenny said on Friday.
"We know the Australian government has yet to comment, so we've taken the case to the Federal Court where an expert in human rights law will provide a full report to the court today.더킹카지노
